Dear single mom, the childless aunt, the widow, the divorced, the young woman struggling to conceive, the motherless, the newly single woman who decided to walk away from abuse, etc. This is for YOU!
How many times have we found ourselves constantly pouring from an empty cup wondering why we feel so disconnected with self? its like we can give all of the love we have to offer to others (even those who deserve it the least) and when it comes to us we totally disregard.
That's NOT okay!!!!
However, you are in for a treat because I have compiled my own list that is proven to help you love YOU more and the way you deserve!
Take a look.....
1) Affirmations/Meditation: What you speak over/into yourself is so important. If you put negativity into the atmosphere that's exactly what you'll receive. You're like a seed. The more you water yourself, the more you'll grow. Begin affirming yourself. Say it loud,bold and like you mean it!!!
2) Write It Out: This is so therapeutic and is actually one of my favorite things to do. When I was being mentored in my teenage years this was brought to my attention and I thought it was stupid (LOL :). But once I became more mature and understood the meaning behind it i fell in love with it. It also limits your business from floating around in today's latest gossip, AND it allows you to self reflect.
3) Treat Yoself!: Listen, you HAVE to! You deserve it! whether its going to your favorite restaurant, shopping in your favorite store, or just simply relaxing in a nice quiet place; whatever you define as treating yourself, DO IT! And don't feel bad about it either :)
4) Spend Time Alone: You have to look at it as dating yourself. How do you get to know a person if you don't spend time with them? same goes for self. You have to figure out what are your needs? what are your likes and dislikes? what can you live with or live without? what are your expectations or priorities? what makes you, YOU?. If you don't truly know these things about yourself, then you have no business trying to help others. Fix you first! Love you first!
5)REST!: This is probably one of the most important, if not THEE important step in loving yourself more. You have to give yourself an opportunity to breathe. Among the chaos you deal with on a daily, the many hats you have to wear etc. you have to rest! Running on 0 can cause so many other issues including decline of health. Pick a day that you can dedicate to YOU and stick to it.
